Porch Sittin’ Mulled Cider Drinkin’

My attempt at Jack Skeleton.

So,  I’m blogging from my cedar deck,  drinking home-made mulled cider and enjoying this unbelievably warm fall weather. The moon is shining through the perfect Halloween clouds and we have just finished carving pumpkins (see image).  This was my attempt at Jack Skeleton from “Nightmare Before Christmas”.  It’s been a couple years since I’ve carved pumpkins so I’ve lost my touch, if I ever had one to start with.  I was pretty proud of myself, considering the tools that I had to use, a fillet knife and paring knife. My mom has the seeds in a warm 225º oven. Let the leaves fall, the cider flow, and the candles burn; Autumn is here.

What is everyone dressing up as for Halloween and what’s your favorite part of fall?

You cannot plow a field by turning it over in your mind.
